Perinatal and Reproductive Psychiatrist
MBBS, FRANZCP
How Joyce works
Joyce is an adult and perinatal psychiatrist who brings a thoughtful, and reflective approach to her work. Her practice is psychodynamically informed, with an interest in how early attachment experiences and relationship patterns can shape emotional responses later in life. She aims to create a safe, empathetic and nurturing space where patients feel heard, understood and supported to make sense of their experiences.
What she focuses on
Joyce works with women navigating anxiety, low mood and high stress across a range of life stages and reproductive experiences. She has a particular interest in supporting women navigating fertility challenges, pregnancy, birth and early parenthood, including the emotional complexity, uncertainty and identity shifts that can arise during these times.
Professional background
Joyce works in private practice and also holds a public appointment at Royal Melbourne Hospital. She completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at Monash University, before undertaking specialist psychiatry training at Eastern Health and St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne. She completed further training in perinatal psychiatry prior to attaining Fellowship, and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP).
Joyce is fluent in both English and Mandarin, and consults primarily in English.
