Lactation and Feeding Support

Feeding support that honours connection, complexity, and choice

Whether feeding is going to plan, feeling harder than expected, or changing over time, thoughtful support can make a meaningful difference.

Feeding a baby can be tender, joyful, demanding, and more complex than many people expect. We offer feeding support that makes room for the emotional, relational, and practical realities of feeding, centring not only how a baby is fed, but the wellbeing of the parent and the relationship around feeding too.

This means making space for the hopes, pressures, challenges, and changing plans that can arise, and offering support that is thoughtful, flexible, and grounded in each family’s individual needs.

Antenatal Feeding & Newborn Workshop

A small-group, evidence-based workshop designed to prepare expectant parents for feeding and early newborn care.

The workshop offers clear, evidence-based preparation for feeding your baby with confidence and clarity.

Designed for late pregnancy, covering the foundations of positioning and attachment, how lactation works, what to expect in the early days and weeks and navigating common challenges.

Best attended 34 - 40 weeks pregnancy, so when you meet your baby, the start of your feeding journey is informed, confident and calm.

Continuing of Care

with you every step of the way

A comprehensive, relationship-based care model supporting clients from late pregnancy through the early postnatal period.

Designed for those seeking consistent, personalised care across this important transition, this program combines practical lactation and newborn support with thoughtful attention to parental wellbeing and adjustment.

During pregnancy, the package includes two, 90-minute in-home consultations. These sessions provide space to prepare for birth, feeding, and the postpartum period, and may include breastfeeding education, newborn guidance, postpartum planning, and discussion of your hopes, concerns, and support needs as you move towards parenthood.

After birth, care continues with weekly, 90-minute home visits for the first six weeks. These visits are tailored to your family’s needs and may focus on breastfeeding or other feeding support, postnatal recovery, newborn behaviour and rhythms, early parenting, and emotional wellbeing during the transition to life with a new baby.

Between visits, telehealth support is available through to seven weeks postpartum, offering additional continuity and reassurance during the early weeks.

Home visits are available within a 5km radius of Collingwood, with some flexibility on enquiry.

Medicare rebates are available for both antenatal and postnatal consultations. To read more about the Extended Medicare Safety Net please see the FAQs.
