How Adrienne works
Adrienne is a perinatal psychiatrist who supports women through the emotional transitions of pregnancy and early parenthood. Her passion for women’s mental health has evolved over the past decade, shaped by deep clinical experience and a belief that every woman’s story deserves time, understanding, and care. Adrienne places strong value on individualised, specialised treatment — holding each woman’s unique experience at the centre of her work. Her approach is grounded in compassion, presence, and respect for the profound shifts that occur during the perinatal period.
What she focuses on
Adrienne has extensive experience supporting women during pregnancy, including those navigating complex or unexpected challenges. She has worked within subspecialty areas of prenatal diagnosis, perinatal loss, and birth trauma, approaching these experiences with sensitivity and steadiness.
In the months and years following birth, Adrienne’s expertise lies in working with mood and anxiety disorders, adjustment difficulties, and parenting vulnerabilities. She is a certified Circle of Security facilitator and often weaves key principles of this attachment-based parenting model into her work, supporting parents to find confidence and connection in early caregiving relationships.
Professional background
Adrienne works in the public sector at Mercy Health and holds the position of Clinical Lead, Austin Perinatal Mental Health Service, where she supports the recovery of inpatient parent–infant dyads. She holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from The University of Adelaide and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists.
Adrienne will commence seeing patients via WARM in late April on Fridays.
