Clinical psychologist

How Kate works

Kate works with women and families through periods of emotional difficulty, transition and change. She offers a warm, respectful and down-to-earth space where people can speak openly, feel understood and begin to make sense of what is happening in their lives.

Kate recognises that every person’s experiences, strengths and needs are different. She works collaboratively and thoughtfully, tailoring therapy to the individual rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. Together, she helps people draw on their strengths, develop practical ways of responding to difficulties and move towards a life that feels meaningful and aligned with what matters most to them.

What she focuses on
Kate supports women experiencing emotional distress, life transitions and the complexities of parenthood and family life.

She has particular experience working with women and families during the perinatal period, including through pregnancy, early parenthood and the adjustment to becoming a parent. Her broader clinical experience also allows her to support people navigating anxiety, low mood, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, serious illness and other significant life changes.

Kate’s work focuses on helping people better understand their experiences, strengthen their capacity to cope and create meaningful and sustainable change.

Professional background
Kate is a clinical psychologist with more than 30 years’ experience across public and private mental health settings. She has worked in mother and baby, community and inpatient mental health services, as well as in rural and remote communities.

Kate also works as a Senior Clinical Psychologist in Psychosocial Cancer Care at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne, supporting people receiving oncology and palliative care.

Kate consults with WARM on Wednesdays.
