How Marta works
Marta works with individuals during periods of inner transition, when something no longer feels aligned, steady, or clear. She supports people navigating emotional intensity, life changes, and experiences that are often felt more in the body than easily put into words, including anxiety, overwhelm, grief, and identity shifts.
Marta creates a grounded and attuned space where people can slow down and begin to make sense of their experience at their own pace. Her approach is gentle but deeply present, allowing what feels held or unspoken to come into awareness without pressure or judgement.
At the heart of her work is a reparenting perspective, supporting people to develop a more compassionate and stable relationship with themselves, particularly in areas shaped by earlier experiences. Many people describe a sense of settling in sessions with Marta, as if their system has space to soften and reorganise from within.
What she focuses on
Marta works with anxiety, emotional overwhelm, trauma, and periods of change. She has a particular interest in how emotional experiences are held in the body, and how reconnecting with internal signals supports regulation, clarity, and self-trust.
Her work is trauma-informed and integrates mindfulness-based approaches with evidence-based therapies, including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Schema Therapy, DBT, and somatic approaches. These are used flexibly, guided by what is most supportive for each person.
Professional background
Marta also works as a psychologist and Practice Leader at Foundation House, supporting trauma-informed care within refugee and asylum seeker communities.
Originally from Italy, she brings a strong humanitarian background, with experience across complex and high-risk settings, including trauma, neurodevelopmental conditions, and behavioural support.
She is also involved in the development of perinatal mental health guidelines in collaboration with the National Institute of Health in Italy.
Alongside her clinical work, Marta is a mindfulness teacher with a background in research and training, focused on integrating psychological and embodied approaches to care.
Marta will be consulting with WARM on Fridays. She will also be running group programs focusing on mindful parenting and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction. You can read more about our therapeutic groups here.
